Posted by Maria at January 27, 2007 02:35 AMWhat defines Maria to me (and I have only known her for seven -- can that be true???--- years) her sense of adventure, fearlessness and compassion. She left her home, family and friends in Oregon for NYC, where she knew no one (well, at least no one that ultimately counted -- sorry J), with only the promise of a demanding job. Her warmth, ready laugh and moral strength makes us all want to claim her as our friend. Quite literally, Maria has walked into a room of strangers and left with twelve new friends.
Old and new friends - it is our turn to make Maria laugh. I'll start: RL is now bald, JST still smells and JC isnt getting any!
