Say Hello to the Blizzard of 2005

Oh Baby.

According to the news, we're looking at between 15 and 24 inches of snow before noon tomorrow, but it seems to have petered out for now at several inches. We'll see what really happens. Luckily I am at one of the southernmost points of Brooklyn, so we may get a little less than other boroughs.

that is so exciting!

Winter can be very harsh.

Case in point: it was in the mid-70s today and the temperature dropped to around 55 right at sunset!!

Ugh!

*snort* I know, Mikey. isn't it awful? I hate this SE Texas weather. although, it is getting down to 33 tonight. brrr.

I was released from the hospital into that crap!

With a newborn baby boy.

Did I mention that I just had a baby? ;-)

HOLY SHIT! Congratulations Rosemary! Rosemary had a BABY!

You and hubby are going to be on poop patrol for awhile. How will you two find time to blog? ;o) I am really happy for you Rose. How was the delivery?

The winter weather I'm finding has been extremely harsh on my skin...after 10yrs in Colorado and now Germany..I still haven't found the best cold cream for my skin...I mean you can look at me and tell I've been living in cold climates for a long time..

Congrats Rosemary and welcome little one.

I can't believe what's happening outside my window right now -- 8:00 am and Hartford has about 18", but the 60+ mph gusts are drifting it to about five feet. We're supposed to get another half foot...

Did you see what's happening in Boston? EIGHT INCHES an hour at one point!

nice typo on my own name.

Posted by: Vickie at January 23, 2005 09:57 AM

This is the worst I've ever seen INCLUDING '78.

Drifts of snow up to 8 feet here... Neil and I just shoveled a path to the street and to the front door. The sides are over our heads.

It's as quiet as the grave and kinda spooky.

Governor Romney (that gay-bashing Mormon bigot governor of ours) has declared a State of emergency for the entire Commonwealth.

I cannot believe how much snow fell overnight! And it is f-f-f-FRIGID out there. I opened the door to set out the recycling, the chill went right to my bones and temp dropped about ten degrees in the kitchen instantly. I don't know if I'm going to be able to gain the courage to go out there today. It's all sunny though. I really think I should pile on some cozy gear and get outside.

Posted by: Maria at January 23, 2005 02:02 PM

good lord M, you have sun??

We're still in the middle of this thing! Ugh.. it's kinda "Twilight Zoney".

Not fun anymore.

Vickie!?!? Are you there? Are you buried?

Richard? Any hint of sunshine yet?

You poor dears...

Posted by: Maria at January 24, 2005 10:18 AM

Finally full sun today M.

But with windchill it's minus 5 and shows no signs of changing in the foreseeable future.

God how I long for Italy.... :-(

Posted by: Richard at January 24, 2005 03:38 PM

OMG it is so cold! I'm sorry to be a complainer, but fuck it's cold out there. I bundle up like nobody's business, but I still came home with my face frozen. I was wearing a fluffy scarf AND a fur hood and my ears were still cold!

Yes Richard. Italy sounds great. California sounds good right about now. Even Oregon never got this cold.

And can I also tell you, that I recently bought two pairs of great suede pumps and haven't been able to wear either pair because of this shit weather? I've been stuck in layers of stockings and pants and sweaters and scarves and gloves and hats and UGH! It's exhausting. I want spring.

(How was that for a tantrum?)

Neil and I have been unable to leave the premises for two days. Tomorrow will be the third...

My usual "good humour" has just gone right out the door. Too much togetherness ain't all it's cracked up to be.

Posted by: Richard at January 24, 2005 10:24 PM

I hate you Cosa.

No seriously, I hate you. I want to move to Hawaii.

Posted by: Maria at January 24, 2005 11:43 PM

Being stuck indoors with your love...oh how soon we lose that "good humor". haha. I do not envy you Richard..and I know Neil is a sweetie pie but shit on a stick...I feel your pain..:)

*I'M HERE!!!!!*

But more snow tonight and all day tomorrow,,another half foot on top of the two feet already. High of 8 degrees, low tomorrow night of -20 w/windchill.

I KNOW it's winter and I KNOW it's supposed to be cold, *cold* being the operative here, not an unholy frigidity that if this is what I wanted I would've moved to freakin' Barrow, Alaska (typical high of 40 in summer, -75 in winter.)

In short, THIS S U C K S.
