Hey, how smart can people be who believe in a god who would create woman as an afterthought?

I happened to run into two different career US Navy NCOs, separately, today. Both were Republicans from Texas. NEITHER one is voting for Bush. Conduct of the war, and bread-and-butter issues dominated their concerns. Talk about alienating your BASE! Up until VERY recently, all military personnel I spoke to were knee-jerk Bushites. Be afraid, Lt. Dubya. Be VERY afraid.

That's interesting. I find it fascinating that really the only voice that we have not heard in this election season is the soldiers and the military personnel that are serving over in Iraq and Afghanistan. I think that their voice is the one that is absolutely essential to hear since they're seeing how things are really going over there and have put a face to a country that has been ravaged by war.

The first hints of dissatisfaction I heard were from Marines who'd already fought on the front lines in both Afghanistan AND Iraq, and were on their way back for a third tour. They were sick of the shit, and sounded much like those jarheads who mouthed off not long ago, about having to fight the same battles over and over, for no apparent reason (Hamburger Hill, anyone?). And they were also clear on tha lack of WMDs, Al Qaida, and any real threat to the US homeland.

It was the troops in the rear, out of the fighting, who held out longest for Dubya, especially the lifers. But that may be collapsing now, too. Guess we'll see, next Tuesday. Or Wednesday. Or Thursday. Or...

Hey thanks Rosemary! That was one from my surprise birthday party. I have a couple more that I was thinking of posting in a thread. The restaurant was really pretty :o) Good lighting helped me out in that one. Hahaa.

Maybe you have a study somewhere linking lack of integrity with liberals? If you did, I'm sure it's as credible as what you've posted here.

Obviously, as a conservative, you've never served your country in our military. There are Non-Commissioned Officers, i.e., chiefs, petty officers (Navy & Coast Guard); sergeants, corporals (Army, Air Force, Marines), etc, in ALL the services. I was one myself, in the Marines, asshole.

Ash - Here in NC, down at Camp Lejune and in Ft. Bragg in Fayetville, there is MUCH dissastisfaction with BushCo. Despite what others may preceive, the reality is the troops, the families and the business owners around these installations are quite angry and see no end in site with the current administration. There are troops returning from Iraq down in both Bragg and Lejune that paint a very different picture than what "gordons" supposed "friend" has to say. One soldier who is getting out said "now I know what my father had gone through in viet nam." Fact is, we really don't know what is going over there because there are folks saying that BushCo is very much quelling the truth from getting out. Iraq is a much bigger mess than we could have possibly ever imagined. The troops are all fed up. They want answers. They want new leaderhsip.

If there is one constant around here, it is people like "gordon", geoffrey, mad mikey who live in this fantasyland and continue to keep their heads buried in their assholes only ever coming out to hear what Fox News has to say, than the head goes right back up in there. Arguing with them is like arguing with a spoiled rotten slobbering red headed 3 year old. The best way to deal with them is to let them cry it out. They eventually go away back to their shithole (where, nobody really bothers to comment on anything of significance anymore).

You know Nunya, what I find funny is that he never posted a single substantive argument or even a shadow of relevant proof, logic or reasoning. He doesn't know how to participate in anything that resembles debate and he hasn't a clue about how to counter another person's position with civility. And then he thinks he came and "bitchslapped" us when what he really did was just come along and take one stinky crap after another in my comments. He thinks that coming to someone's blog and calling them a liar, etc., desperately trying to insult and incite, constitutes having won a debate! Hilarious! What a poor fool.

and if you noticed, his blog's comment activities has died down because nobody takes him seriously anymore. nobody trusts him - how many forged posts of me saying i touch my special place can he do and deny it and yet still have people beleive him? even girl from heterophobic.org got fed up with it.
