I really need to complain. This weather sucks. I hate summer in New York. I'm starting to feel like I live in Seattle. Rain rain rain. That's all it does on the weekends here. It better be sunny tomorrow or I'm just going to throw myself down on the ground and kick and scream like a two year old. I've spent all day cleaning, listening to music and finishing up miscellaneous projects. That's all fine and good, but I really want to be swimming and floating and basking in sunshine, like you're supposed to in the middle/end of August. It's like some cruel joke to punish New Yorkers for being bastards all year long.
Update: Forecast for tomorrow says sunny, 79 degrees, zero precipitation. YAY!!! Kathleen and I made plans to go to the beach. If it rains now, I will have to kill the weatherman. (I think they have set a record this year for highest number of inaccurate forecasts).

We were just saying "what a sucky summer" yesterday.
Posted by: Richard at August 21, 2004 10:50 PMI know! What's the deal? It's been really awful. The only swim time I've gotten was when I was in Oregon (take me back there!) and once at a hotel in Maryland. That was heavenly.
Well tomorrow should be good. You boys have a nice time now! I know I will. I'm already packing up my beach bag. I can't wait :o)

Actually I think it's more to punish you for having the Yankees there (ducking)
This summer has been bizarre. The only thing we did around our pool this year was add shock and chlorine. I think I went in once. And did you get the thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday? We got four inches of rain up here in CT.
hey take a break in Florida: 92 average temp and IQ, way more than enough hurricane debris to light a beach fire, daily major thunderstorms to warm the cockles, huge # of NYorkers...
c'mom stop whining, girl...think of the extended rain days as an opportunity to hone your ennui skills.
Posted by: cul at August 23, 2004 04:05 AMCul! I've never been to Florida. But New Yorkers seem to love Florida the way Californians love Nevada and Oregon. New Yorkers talk about Florida like it is this amazing paradise at the end of a shit colored rainbow. It's actually kind of irritating.
Every single NYer who gets tired of NY starts talking about moving to Florida. It's almost as if NYers have no imagination whatsoever and they think Florida is the only nice place to go in the U.S. outside of NY. For this reason, a part of me has no desire whatsoever to go there ever. If I go on vacation, I want to GET AWAY from NYers! Hahaa.
Posted by: Maria at August 24, 2004 03:51 PMThe bottom of the sky fell out here today...temp dropped so low I had to put on long pants and a sweatshirt...the heater maybe coming on tonight also..BRRRRRR...chilly..it's August right? haha..
