OZZ!

My apologies for the lulls. (Though it looks like my comments section has been making up for it). I haven't had a day off. Things have been hectic at work. Friday night Rob and I went to Ozzfest in Holmdel, NJ. Let me tell you, if you don't already know, what a metal-fest in New Jersey looks like. First and foremost, super grimey. Grimey characters. Lots of them. Unfortunately, hair farming has still not completely gone out of style among butt rockers and metal heads. At least 98% of the attendees were white, Rob and Rahua being the darkest people that I laid eyes on while there. There was no shortage of white supremecists on the premises. Probably a lot of Bush voters. I got that vibe. A white power, American dominance vibe.

But regardless of all that, I had a really, really fun time. First, because Emily and Jed, really close friends from highschool in Oregon, were there running their booth, so we got to hang out with them. And second, because I love Black Sabbath and Ozzy, and they played a really great show. Guitar solos that had me hanging halfway into another universe. Vocals that conjured up the most angst ridden days of my teenhood. At one point Ozzy asked everyone for a light and every lighter in the amphitheatre went up. I looked around at the crowd. Lighters in one hand, sign of the devil in the other, and I honestly had a "Dawn of the Dead" flashback. Is that weird? I surveyed the vast crowd to my left and to my right (this show was sold out) and felt like if you tipped the balance a tad, these people would start eating eachother. Hahaaa. Okay. So I have a bit of an overactive imagination.

Anyway, the final word is that it was a great time.

Weekend was busy. Working, shopping, attending goddaughter's baptism celebration. Back to work. That's life. If you're lucky, you get to see Black Sabbath before it's all over. ;o)

Wow. Way to just stereotype AND call anyone who doesn't hate President Bush a white supremacist...

Posted by: Mad Mikey at July 19, 2004 12:39 PM

I was actually describing them seperately. There were both white supremicists present and also a lot of what I assumed were probably Bush voters. Some of them were probably both. But I wasn't saying that if you are a Bush voter you are a white supremicist. Though now that I think of it, if you are a white supremicist, I can only assume you're probably a Bush voter.

Posted by: Maria at July 19, 2004 12:42 PM

If I understand your logic, I see what you're getting at. I just wanted to point out that the way you phrased it was that you 'lumped' them together....

Posted by: Mad Mikey at July 19, 2004 01:04 PM

I'm so envious. I love Ozzie and Black Sabbath.

My husband doesn't but he's a geek. C'est la vie...

Oh Maria,
Yet another example of why I can never take you serious... about anything. You are what you hate aren't you? Anyway, I understand your fears. Some Latinos just moved into my pearly neighborhood and I'm concerned I may never see my hubcaps again.

Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at July 19, 2004 09:56 PM

Yeah, like anyone takes YOU seriosuly "gordon"

But, it doesn't surprise me that you would stand up for the white supremecists. You are what you defend I guess.

Posted by: Nunya at July 19, 2004 11:42 PM

The irony eludes you doesn't it bitchboy?

There's a reason people like you work for people like me.

Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at July 19, 2004 11:52 PM

Gordon, you have problems my friend.

For the record, when I said white supremecists, I wasn't making assumptions. I'm talking about blatant nazi skinheads with swastika tattoos. If you are going to equate them with the latinos that just moved into your neighborhood, you are sicker than I thought you were Gordie.

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 09:43 AM

Blah blah blah. My comment was clearly sarcastic, but like Nunya, the subtleties clearly are over your head.

You, on the other hand were serious. You saw white supremist and immediately came to a conclusion that they were Bush voters.

You Maria, are a sick racist pig.

Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at July 20, 2004 10:22 AM

Gordon, you better get a grip quick buddy. You're cruisin for a fuckin bruisin. You obviously snorted one too many lines of meth this morning. Lay off the powder. It makes you so aggressive.

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 10:25 AM

A bruisin'? From who?

That'd make you feel good wouldn't it Maria? Beating up a "whitey", that is.

Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at July 20, 2004 10:37 AM

It would make me feel good if you would stop taking those harmful amphetamines that wind you up so tight.

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 10:39 AM

That does raise a good point, though. How DO you know they are Bush supporters? After all, Ozzy isn't.

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 20, 2004 10:40 AM

The real question is, why does it bother you so much that I observed that some of the ozzfest attendees appeared to be warmongering, white power, aggressors and I assume that people with that general personality type would choose the candidate that is promoting war as the answer to everything. I also assume that most white supremecists/nazi skinheads are aware of the Bush family's history of financially supporting the nazis, and so they probably feel some natural affinity for W.

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 10:46 AM

You don't like white people do you Maria?

Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at July 20, 2004 10:51 AM

Well that would be silly wouldn't it, since half my family is of German descent?

I'll tell you what I don't like! Little white crystals that people like you snort up their noses before going out and harassing the nearest bystander.

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 10:53 AM

It doesn't bother me. Many of the topics I comment on don't "bother" me. I just point out the hypocrisy. You've attacked me for making assumptions about immigrants, then you do the same.

Did you ask any of them if they are white supremists? Nope, you assumed. Ozzy opposes Bush, so you could just as easily draw the conclusion that they do also.

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 20, 2004 10:58 AM

Do you have to ask someone who has a swastika tattooed on their bald head and a WHITE POWER tattoo on their forearm if they are a white supremecist Geoffrey?

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 10:59 AM

One of my clients owns one of the largest networking firms in western Massachusetts. Last fall we were walking to his office and got caught in a downpour. I could make out a huge tattoo on his back through his wet shirt. It said "ONE RACE".

He claims it was the dumbest 3 months of his life and he was 14 when his buddy gave it to him. I usually try not to assume.

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 20, 2004 11:13 AM

Give me a break.

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 11:20 AM

Excellent retort. You're setting a solid foundation to support your blanket generalizations now!

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 20, 2004 11:33 AM

Geoffrey, why do you even bother?

I was at a heavy metal concert (not just Black Sabbath, but bands like Slayer and Slipknot too) and I saw several people who appeared to be white supremicists. I mention it in my post and that makes ME racist? What kind of whack ass logic is that? Sometimes I honestly think you and Gordon both are just drifting swiftly off the deep end.

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 11:35 AM

I saw several people who appeared to be white supremicists.

Ahhh, but that isn't what you said. You said:

At least 98% of the attendees were white, Rob and Rahua being the darkest people that I laid eyes on while there. There was no shortage of white supremecists on the premises. Probably a lot of Bush voters.

Huge difference.

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 20, 2004 11:45 AM

No there is not a huge difference you big palooka.

Like I said before, if you have nazi and white power tattoos all over, I am going to assume you are a white supremecist because you APPEAR TO BE ONE, and I'm not going to fucking tiptoe around it either. Especially if you are making no attempt whatsoever to hide them, as in, you have one on your skull and you continue to shave your head bald. Duh.

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 11:50 AM

The irony is killing me.

You get on my case about generalizing blanket statements.
Then you make one yourself.
When it's pointed out to you, you'll argue about it until you're blue in the face even though YOU and I BOTH know you made a broad generalization.

You're right. You will argue about anything.

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 20, 2004 11:52 AM

When did I get on your case you schitz?

And I didn't make a broad generalization at all. Were you at the concert? I didn't think so. I was. Guess what I saw there? Exactly what I said I saw there. Guess whose blog this is? That's right. It's mine. If you were walking down the street in your neighborhood and you saw a polar bear, do you think I am going to come and argue with you that it was a grizzly that you saw? NO. Why? Because I wasn't fucking there. And likewise, I can describe in whatever manner I choose, that which I observed during this little excursion that had nothing whatsoever to do with you. If I see white supremecists, I don't see what the problem is with my saying so. Now what was the problem again?

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 11:59 AM

When did I get on your case you schitz?

When I was yapping about left at the rally I attended being a bunch of haters.

The fact that you were at the concert doesn't take away from what you saw. It's when you attached those people to certain beliefs, candidates, and political leanings with absolutely nothing to back it up except for the way they look that you began making generalizations.

You assumed.

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 20, 2004 12:09 PM

I admit I assumed about the Bush voter thing. But I think of it more as a logical conclusion.

As to the white supremecy thing, I did not assume anything.

Regardless, it's my blog and I can assume if I want to.

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 12:13 PM

Oh yeah, and on the post re: rally, could you quote me, because I don't recall saying anything about it.

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 12:16 PM

Guess you couldn't find those facts to back up your claims about your rally post that I supposedly commented on.

Posted by: Maria at July 20, 2004 07:34 PM

Actually, I'm busy. I'm leaving for summer reunion tomorrow. I'm sure there are more, but I just grabbed the one I knew was there.

http://dogsnot.net/mt/archives/000206.html

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 20, 2004 08:38 PM

But conveniently, "gordon" allegedly "messed up" on going to the site of this "reunion" by "showing up" last weekend instead of this weekend. So "he" will be around this weekend. FOr someone who is supposed to be a big powerful boss, a) he is pretty damned fucking stupid to show up on the wrong weekend and b) if he is such a big powerful boss, why can't he just go this weekend?

Could it be that there is no "reunion" or "gordon" or anything. It is just a sorry little man who claims he lives on a island in mass. claims to own his own business? Yup, a sorry little man who has nothing better to do but make trouble.

Posted by: nunya at July 20, 2004 08:47 PM

Yes. There is no reunion. You're too smart for me. The pictures I posted from last year's reunion were all staged. The pictures I posted of Gordon and I together from last years reunion were all staged. The pictures I'll post from this year's reunion will all be staged. Our friends that commented on last years post don't exist.

The fact that Gordon lives on the other side of the country has nothing to do with not showing up last weekend.

Boy, you're a rocket scientist. It's amazing how well you use that GED.

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 20, 2004 08:56 PM

Gayf - do you realize how many people are on to your bullshit lies? You are truly a sad sick little man.

and a fucking pig.

Posted by: nunya at July 20, 2004 10:02 PM

Here's an idea. Why don't you post your evidence about my lies?

Oh wait. You're lying. Again.

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 20, 2004 10:05 PM

The only tall tales I'm familiar with are NeoCUNTS "fantasy life" where he's a softball coach, combat vet, and businessman.

Keep daring to dream, Nunya.

Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at July 20, 2004 11:43 PM

where is your proof "gordon" that I am none of these? where is gayf's proof?

And I am a baseball coach, you fucking pig.

Posted by: nunya at July 21, 2004 08:41 AM

See, since YOU have a verifiable track record of making false claims, We can use deductive reasoning.

IE: If NeoCunt makes claims with no supporting evidence that can be verified as false, one can reasonably assume that OTHER claims with no supporting evidence can be deemed false in absence of verification.

You lie. Everyone knows you lie. Therefore, we can assume everything you say is a lie. You're intellectually and morally bankrupt.

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 21, 2004 08:48 AM

that is what I thought - no evidence backing up what you say about me - which is slander by the way.

Posted by: nunya at July 21, 2004 08:54 AM

Wait, here's some slander....

NeoCunt is a fat boy toucher who lives in his mom's basement, only coming out during the holiday season to resume his role as Burger King's caroler, playground stalker, and rest stop troller.

Face it, NeoCunt, no one takes you seriously. Even your lib friends don't come to your aid. You're a pathetic liar.

Posted by: Geoffrey at July 21, 2004 09:04 AM

Now you teach baseball? You used to say it was softball.

You're "claims" are inconsistent Nunya. You're always caught in your tangled web of lies and deciet.

Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at July 21, 2004 05:38 PM

Deceit. And what a ridiculous cliche. Which summer blockbuster trailor did you steal that line from? I've never noticed Nunya lying about anything. But I have definitely noticed the post forging/altering that he has called you on and how you and Geoffrey have repeatedly lied about having anything to do with it.

Posted by: Maria at July 21, 2004 06:45 PM

Ha! People post as NeoCUNT all the time on my blog. I think it's hilarious. He's a turd and the regulars treat him like one.

Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at July 21, 2004 07:33 PM

"Turd"

Isn't that a classic bully word? Like what jocks would call nerds in stupid 80s movies?

Posted by: Maria at July 21, 2004 08:02 PM

Not sure, but there's an old adage that seems to come to mind.

"You can't polish a turd."

Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at July 21, 2004 08:30 PM

What have I "lied" about "gordon"

Prove that I have lief about anything.

Posted by: nunya at July 21, 2004 11:24 PM

Prove that you "liefed" about something?

What the hell does that mean Nunya?

Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at July 21, 2004 11:37 PM

it means I am a real person and you are just a sad figment of some sad little pig's imagination.

Posted by: nunya at July 22, 2004 11:11 AM

It means your a grown man that can't spell better than a 3rd grader.

Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at July 22, 2004 07:58 PM

And I also like to be touched by third graders.
