"Music was one of my parts ... Like my blood. It was a force already with me... It was a necessity for me, like food or water." - Ray Charles
Good lord. I had no idea. UGH.. Very strange how many legends are dying (both substantive and otherwise).
Sad news Maria. The real deal. Through and through.
Posted by: Richard at June 10, 2004 05:41 PMI guess we all have to go sometime. The death of a person like Ray Charles is very sad, but he definitely left his mark on this world by leaving behind a positive legacy and his music will continue to bring people joy for many years to come.
I am astounded by all the hoopla surrounding Reagan's death. Not that those who loved him and respected him should not have the opportunity to express their sadness, but I think the media has let the sugared portrayals and glossing of his presidency get away from them and now they can't seem to catch it and put a lid on it. Enough is enough.
