Fuh Real?

Is this for real? I mean, I watched the video with my own two eyes. Three times in fact. And I still can't believe that it actually happened.

During a commercial break on the David Letterman show, producer Maria Pope was on stage and discussing something with Letterman, and while she was standing there in front of Bush, George leaned forward, grabbed the back of her sweater and used it to clean his glasses.

I don't know if this is for real..but years ago before I got contacts..I can't tell you how many times I did that to people..I mean granted I knew them pretty well but....I mean I ain't really feeling the uproar on this..I guess some would call it rude but..I dunno. Nothings worse than having a smudge on your glasses.

I think if you know the person, or you ask, it's no big deal. But in this situation I think that it demonstrates a lack of respect and a sense of entitlement. The woman had her back turned and he just reached out and grabbed her shawl and used it to wipe his glasses. That, to me, is like if I was riding the subway and I just reached out and wiped my glasses on the person sitting next to me. I can tell you in NY that would NOT go over too well. And it seems from this footage that when she became aware of him using her shawl as a hanky, her hand came out as if to say "what are you doing Mr. President? That's my shawl."

Yeah I can understand that..I mean I would be a little "put off" if a stranger did that to me..ummmm..oh hell..I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about today anyway. :)
