I get the feeling the morality police will probably be in full agreement with this proposed law prohibiting people from wearing low-slung pants that reveal too much skin or undergarments.
"The bill would punish anyone caught wearing low-riding pants with a fine of as much as $500 or as many as six months in jail, or both. 'I’m sick of seeing it,' said Shepherd, a first-term legislator. 'The community’s outraged. And if parents can’t do their job, if parents can’t regulate what their children wear, then there should be a law.'"
He's sick of seeing it? The community is outraged? Maybe he should go to therapy to work out his sexual repression issues and the community can get a big fat wake up call that says "Hello! Attention ladies and gentlemen of Jefferson Parish, in case you have not been informed, it is the year 2004 and this is a free country. If you don't like it, die already." Now excuse me while I go slip into a lacy black g-string and don my tightest, lowest hip huggers to celebrate the fact that I don't live in backassward Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.
Posted by Maria at April 27, 2004 03:02 PM | TrackBackOh for Petes' sake it's a FAD. I had alot of teenagers working w/me at the restaurants and they worked hard and earned their money and they paid dearly to dress this way.
My momma used to tell me about the dirty looks her & her friends got in the 50's for wearing "pants" instead of skirts...every decade has something...I see these kids wear their low britches all the time..I think some of it's stupid, can't figure out how the boys walk with their pants hanging, but hey...that's their "thang" and it don't bother me. :)
oops..I almost forgot..I bought me a pair of those low riders at Old Navy and no I don't show my underwear while wearing them..but they are the best fittin' jeans I've had in years.
Posted by: sandy at April 27, 2004 03:22 PMLouisianna is a backwards assed state. When I was stationed down at Keesler AFB, if you wandered off base into the back roads, some people had signs on their lawns that read "no dogs, jews, niggers or military allowed on lawn" and this was in late 80's early 90's. There is no such thing as a democrat down there - they are all ultra right wing conservatives.
Posted by: Nunya at April 27, 2004 04:31 PMHey Derrick??
Fuck you. I'm gonna buy a pair of those leather chaps they sell in Provincetown where your entire SCHLONG hangs out and then I'm gonna walk down the street holding myself just in your honor boyfriend! (Oh that'll be pretty :-)
What a fucknut. Christ... some people need not only sex repression therapy they need a fucking HOBBY! I'm banking on the fact that this asshole has a closet full of deviant porn. Never fails.
Posted by: Richard at April 27, 2004 06:30 PMHey M?
DOLLFACE!!!! Glad to see you're your old self again. MWAH!
Who loves ya sweetcakes?? Answer?? "I DO!"
Posted by: Richard at April 27, 2004 06:31 PMYikes Nunya. Just read your post. Are you serious?? As late as the 80s and 90s??
That's some scary shit.
Posted by: Richard at April 27, 2004 06:33 PMNunya, That IS some scary shit. I spent a few months in New Orleans, and drove by myself through the south to get there, but I presume that what I saw during pit stops and in New Orleans didn't really represent Louisiana to the extent that you're talking about.
Richard! Thanks sweetness. I'm feeling more myself today. ;o) And I'll bet anything you're on the money about Derrick's porn collection. Hahaa.
Sandy! Wear em with pride! Your comments are right on. Reminded me of that Katherine Hepburn quote when she was asked by Barbara Walters "Kate, you always wear pants. Do you even own a skirt?" Hepburn replied: "I have one, Miss Walters. I'll wear it to your funeral."
Fashion is not for stupid crotchety ol' fucks like Derrick Shepherd to understand. He should just stay the hell out of it. Or move to Saudi Arabia or Iran where they could appreciate his antiquated attitude towards fashion.
Posted by: Maria at April 27, 2004 08:02 PMThat's presumptive to assume I'd support that legislation. I don't. I think it's stupid. Leave that for parents to decide.
Wearing low slung pants is slightly different than an adult boffing a minor in a tree in central park.
Posted by: Geoffrey at April 27, 2004 10:11 PMMaria,
Ha! You're comparing a fad to some middle-aged dude assfucking a teen boy in a tree in broad daylight in a public park? You're really reaching for straws.
Nunya,
More of your war fables about having served? The only thing you've served are blow jobs to truckers. Enough of the BS, Thanks.
Did I make a comparison? No. You did. I just linked your thread into my thread. I thought you'd enjoy the article about the stupid guy in Louisiana and his stupid law and knew if I linked you, you would visit and comment. You are the morality police aren't you?
Posted by: Maria at April 27, 2004 11:34 PM"I get the feeling the morality police will probably be in full agreement with this proposed law prohibiting people from wearing low-slung pants that reveal too much skin or undergarments."
Do you even read what you write? Of course you compared the two. Mistake number two was saying we'd be in full agreement - as Geoff explained and I agree, it's the parents business. This is just a fad.
What's ironic is I was going to post on this very topic 'til I got an email with the trackback. I planned on using it as a counter argument to the tree pedophile. I expect at the least we both agree that pedophelia is wrong, right?
Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at April 27, 2004 11:48 PMYou have no sense of humor at all do you Gordon? It seems you have been impaled from the rectum. And now, you are left with a gigantic fucking stick up your ass and taking yourself way too damn seriously.
Posted by: Maria at April 28, 2004 12:00 AMAnd I didn't compare the two incidents, only the mindsets which take offense to each of them, i.e. I compared your reaction to the guys in the tree to the guy in Louisiana's reaction to hip huggers. The thought process seems to share similarities. Not that the specific scenarios share any similarities.
Posted by: Maria at April 28, 2004 12:04 AMAll right, all right.
Maybe I need to lighten up but you certainly have your moments too!
Posted by: Gordon the Magnificent at April 28, 2004 12:04 AMYes I do. Look forward to one of those moments, coming soon to a theatre near you! Haha.
