Orbiting

It's hard to remember what life was like before personal computers.

When I was a kid I had a C-64. I played Pitfall religiously. Despite being a "computer," it had no other purpose in my mind other than that. To fight with my brother over, and to happily trot along, screen after screen, a little stick man, swinging from a little green stick of vine over little brown pools of "scary" swampage inhabited by less than terrifying alligators. Boy was that fun. I miss those days.

Skip to now. Remember when no one knew what a blog was? You would say "yeah, I have a blog," and people would say "pardon?" One of my friends even laughed and said "What???" I said "a weblog, you know, like an online journal." And she said (laughing) "Oooh! I thought you said a BLOG and I was like, whaaaaat??? What's that?" And I said "I did say 'a blog'. That's short for web-log." I could tell she thought I was a complete dorkasauras.

But now everyone seems to know what it is. People still think you're a dork, but it's okay because you're also kind of cool and you have something that's your outlet and not everyone has that. My boss at work emails me blog entries that he's come across in his incessant internet foodie searches. He found one that actually killed me. I printed it up and read every last comment on the train on the way home. This is what it's all about man. Real writing and laughs. Big fucking laughs.

Oh, p.s., if you read the linked blog entry, the restaurant ("Spice Market") that Amanda Hesser was writing about is directly across the street from the Hogpit! Sounds a little inflated to me though. I'm gonna stick with the Hogpit for now.

People don't think I'm a dork. My blog is really my hubby's. I hijacked it. He's the dork, I'm the kewl chick that blogs with her hubby. Many have questioned my sanity, hence the QOAE moniker, they never doubted my kewlness. 'Cuz, I'm like so freaking awesome. :-)

He writes almost as bad as I do.

It appears Eurotrash actually happens to be a female. And she makes me laugh. You usually just make me mad.

I figure I'm doing ok if I can evoke any emotion at all.

And I wasn't referring to eurotrash, I was referring to the phantom gourmet.

Ha! Oooh. Yes. Amanda Hesser. That idiot. How awful was that?

You're definitely good at stirring up emotion Geoffrey. A real pisser.

I still had gender difficulty, apparently.
