Break Time

Last Friday I blogged about how Fridays always tend to drag. HOLY. I feel like I've been here six hours already and it's not even eleven a.m. yet. And the sun is shining, which makes it worse. Being stuck up here in a fishbowl in the sky, only able to observe the resplendent colors of the day, but unable to tangibly experience its divinity in a walk, unable to feel a kiss of breeze or to turn my face up to the sky and relish in the warmth of this blessed sunshine. To feel drenched in the ecstacy of a fair spring day.

Can you tell how deprived we have been of decent weather?

It has been a long, hellishly cold winter. If someone mentions in the elevator that they heard more snow may still be on the way, everyone jumps as if the jerk just pulled out a gun. We are shell shocked & still menaced by the misery of another NY winter that doesn't want to go away.

I dream every day of putting on my new silver bondgirl bikini and splashing in warm beckoning waves, backstroking towards tiny sailboats in the distance and hearing the muted sounds of children's laughter, blinking salty droplets off wet lashes, sitting in the sand and eating turkey & avocado sandwiches washed down with cold corona, laying back and basking in the glory & freedom of summertime.

It's going to happen soon. Very soon.

Not to worry M. Won't be long now. We're having that same kind of weather here. Just got back from the job site on the Vineyard yesterday. Two solid days of sunny mid-50s weather. Daffodils and crocuses poppoing up all over the place... and the smell of the ocean - it's just amazing. I actually got some color on my winter skin. I was in Menemsha (small fishing village on the Island) and a few early summer folk were there beginning to open up cottages. No question. Spring is here. Pretty soon I'll be complaining of over-crowded ferrys to the island and too many tourists. But right now it's just grand.

Sorry off topic here Maria.

Sandy once told me Gordon/Geoffrey "never" ban anyone!! I have just received the honor of being the first person banned from dog snot!!

Gordo couldn't take what he was dishing out and I finally found his Achille's heel.

Yippeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me * Ailey went to the mall and bought our bathing suits today, came out to the parking lot and it was SNOWING!

Richard. Sounds so heavenly where you are. I used to live in a beautiful town where the air was fresh and the spring was lively & tourists would invade to disrupt the peace and serenity of it all. (They invade here too, but it's not nearly as charming a setting). Sometimes I don't know what I'm doing in this concrete jungle. Luckily, I don't live far from the water in Brooklyn. It's just a quick walk down to the bay where I can watch the boats and have a great view of the Statue of Liberty, and I'm only a tiny subway ride from the beach. You know where I'm heading as soon as the hot weather arrives! (R.: Congratulations re: your distinction! All your hard work finally paid off. Hahaa!)

Sandy! Don't even say the word "snow." I'm afraid you'll incite the gods! Tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day and after that, rain, rain and more rain... :o(

"silver bondgirl bikini?" Darlin, do a dirty old man a favor and send pictures :-) We're having great, warm weather here. The irony is going to the beach involves plane tickets! At least it's brought out the short skirts on campus...

Ha! Lee you are incorrigible. If one of those lil chickies turned around and returned your lust would you respond accordingly? (Hoping the answer is 'yes')

(and they say gay men are the horned toads)

You'd have a field day at Wheaton Lee. It's predominantly a girl's college (not to be confused the the "Wheaton College" of bible-thumper fame). I managed to find the sole Abercrombie and Fitch employee/model taking his undergraduate degree and oh-so-yummy. I find myself primping just cuz I know he'll be in class! We're cut from the same mold old friend, you and I.

Just act on it differently!

Richard, I'd probably be a little shocked at first, then I'd look for a nice quiet spot :-) I hear ya man, I tend to dress a little nicer and put on cologne on my "all-day female tutoring Tuesdays!" One of these days I'll get a chance to come out to Boston again; I'll letcha know...

Posted by: lee at April 10, 2004 12:00 PM

Hahaa Leee! I don't think you fit into the "dirty old man" category in my book just yet. I've probably chased older and dirtier myself. ;o)

And Sandy you ARE evil! If I see one more little white flake this year I'm going to do myself in. And then you'll really be sorry! Hahaaa.

Dammit M.

Remember my "unique staus" from yesterday??

Appears I've been reinstated :-(
Must be a love-hate thingy.

And just when I was regaining my sense of reason. Ah well.

'status' ^

Posted by: Richard at April 10, 2004 07:04 PM

Ha! Richard! Don't ever give up. There's still hope for total banishment, you just have to put some real elbow grease into it. Or as my boyfriend would say "it's all in the wrist baby, it's all in the wrist" (And no, he doesn't say it during sex, he says it when I'm trying to swipe my metrocard.) ;o)

You freaking read my mind!

LMAO M.

Posted by: Richard at April 10, 2004 08:53 PM

LMAO TOO!!! Hahahahaaa.
