This nation is inhabited by millions of sheep. Sheep upon sheep. Actually, no. Not sheep. Sheep have backbones. Unlike worms, which are utterly spineless. This nation is inhabited by millions of worms. People who barely know how to think for themselves or how to determine what exactly it is that they believe in. It is a wonder that this is a "free" country at all when you consider the way that the majority of the people here think. Or DON'T.
Even those who purport to feel strongly in a certain way are afraid to stand up for what they believe in and when they open their mouths nothing intelligent or meaningful comes out. Just bees. No honey.
Blind. Stupid. Ignorant. Deceitful. Selfish. Hypocritical. Without insight. These are all words and phrases that come to mind right now. This media show that this war IS, makes my stomach turn. Every channel is broadcasting the war like it is the summer's big blockbuster smash hit. It's lumped in on Extra and Entertainment Tonight with the fucking Oscar's. Everyone is watching. It is so morbid and shameful.
Frivolous, selfish worms. I am embarassed to be one of them. I'd rather be dead than be a person who supports the murder of innocent people for some political agenda that has nothing to do with protecting our country or the inhabitants of the country we are attacking. The only reason anyone agrees with this war is that they are completely brainwashed by Bush's schpeal about weapons of mass destruction and the oppression of the Iraqi people. Give me a fucking break! How can people look that man in the face and believe a single syllable that escapes his lips? It is like watching an entire nation of people being conned into signing over their souls to the devil. I would rather be dead than blindly support a president who wasn't even elected by the people of this country and who, along with his accomplices, committed numerous shady acts in order to get himself into office.
There is nothing anyone could ever do to convince me that Bush gives a flying fuck about the Iraqi people and there is no evidence that we are being threatened by weapons of mass destruction. This is about money. About personal agendas. About oil and weapons and power. It has nothing to do with Bush suddenly caring about the plight of the Iraqi's under the oppressive rule of that maniac Saddam. Anyone who believes that or any of the other lies that spew from our giant governmental orifice is nothing more than an imbecile.
Meanwhile, whenever I hear that phrase about how the Iraqis need to be freed from Saddam's regime, I think how badly I would like to be freed from Bush's regime. Who is going to save us? Nobody. Because everyone hates us now. Surprise! We are the giant asshole of planet Earth.
I saw a headline on the cover of the Daily News today that said "WAR SPECIAL!" with stars bordering the block letters. I wish I could destroy the media. It does nothing but warp the truth and make the whole sordid thing into a circus spectacle. On top of that, the people who gobble it up are fat with lies and propaganda promoting war and greed beneath a shroud of fear and paranoia. It's really a charming combination. Really.
